On 25th June, "Smart Manufacturing Conference" was successfully held in Science and Technology Hall of Chengdu Science and Technology Association under the guidance of Sichuan Science and Technology Association, Chengdu Science and Technology Association and Xinjin District People's Government, hosted by Sichuan Science and Technology Collaboration and Innovation Promotion Association, and undertaken by Chengdu Science and Technology Collaboration and Innovation Promotion Association, and the "Smart Manufacturing Expert Committee" was formally established during the same period. Professor Chen Weirong, foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering, director of the Institute of Hydrogen Energy and Energy Storage Technology of Southwest Jiaotong University,  attended the conference and gave a keynote report.

At the conference, some experts and scholars delivered wonderful speeches one after another, and jointly discussed the direction of the transformation and upgrading of the smart manufacturing industry. At the same time, the inauguration ceremony of the Smart Manufacturing Expert Committee of the Sichuan Association for the Promotion of Collaborative Innovation in Science and Technology was held.

Prof. Chen, as the chief scientist of the Smart Manufacturing Committee, made a keynote report on "Development of New Energy Equipments for Railway Transportation under Dual Carbon Target". He proposed that the future hydrogen rail transport is a great challenge and opportunity for Chengdu, and that hydrogen rail transport is a new system of rail transport based on new energy, as well as an important opportunity for industrial upgrading and transformation.
