On 4 October, Stanford University in the United States released the World's Top 2% Top Scientists 2023 (World's Top 2% Scientists 2023). The list was selected from nearly 7 million scientists around the world, with 85,000 scientists from 159 countries finally selected, covering 22 subject areas and 174 subdisciplines.

  The ranking is mainly divided into two lists: "Annual Scientific Influence Ranking" and "Lifetime Scientific Influence Ranking", which corresponds to the comprehensive data of the year 2022 and the two time intervals from 1960 to 2022 respectively. A total of 12 faculty members from School of Electrical Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University have been selected for the Lifetime Scientific Influence Ranking, accounting for 21.8% of the total number of selected faculty members (55 in total); and a total of 22 faculty members have been selected for the Annual Scientific Influence Ranking, accounting for 19.5% of the total number of selected faculty members (113 in total).
