On October 31st, the third session of NEEC Technical Committee was held in Shenzhen, hosted by academician Qian Qingquan, with attendance of Academician Ding Rongjun, deputy director of NEEC Technical Committee. Besides, Members of NEEC Technical Committee, teachers from SEE of SWJTU, NEEC Hong Kong Branch, Southern China Base and other industrial bases attended the meeting.

     Prof. Chen Weirong, on behalf of Zhu Jianmie, vice president of SWJTU, extended a warm welcome to all the leaders and experts present at the meeting in his speech. In his address, SWJTU earnestly hopes that the experts can help greatly in the construction of NEEC and the development of SWJTU in the future.

     Prof. Gao Shibin, dean of NEEC, made a report from four aspects: the general situation of NEEC, annual summary, future plan and the situation of Sichuan-Tibet Railway.

     Prof. He Zhengyou, secretary of NEEC Technical Committee, reported the Pre-research Project and Annual Open Fund Project. Members held a heated discussion on the development of the center, research projects and the work of the next year.

     Finally, Qian Qingquan, director of NEEC Technical Committee made a summary speech. "Today is the best time to develop high-speed rail," he said, "we must see both opportunities and challenges." It is hoped that NEEC can seize opportunities and continue to lead in the field of rail transit electrification and automation.
