On May 6, 2023, the award ceremony of the 12th "Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award", the highest award for intelligent science and technology in China, was officially held at the Beijing Conference Centre, and the project "Intelligent Detection of Key Components of High-speed Railway Contact Networks and Engineering Applications" chaired by Professor Liu Zhigang of our college won the Second Prize of Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Scientific and Technological Advancement in the year of 2022, which is the first time for Southwest Jiaotong University to win Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Scientific and Technological Advancement Prize.

  Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award, led and funded by ZTE Corporation and sponsored by the Chinese Society for Artificial Intelligence, has a Science and Technology Achievement Award, a Science and Technology Innovation Award, and a Science and Technology Progress Award, which are evaluated once a year. Among them, the Achievement Award and Innovation Award mainly reward individuals, and the Progress Award mainly rewards projects. This award is regarded as "the highest award for intelligent science and technology in China", representing the highest honour in the field of artificial intelligence. It rewards units and individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the field of intelligent science and technology activities, in order to continuously promote innovation and development in the field of intelligent science and technology in China.

In addition, Prof. Liu Zhigang organised the "New Generation AI Application in Industry Forum" of the 2022 China Artificial Intelligence Industry Annual Conference on May 7 in Suzhou Industrial Zone, and invited IEEE FelIow and Prof. Yan Ruqiang of Xi'an Jiaotong University to be the chairmen of the forum, and five national young talents from famous universities in China and two enterprise technologists to give a wonderful report.
